A NEW PHILOSOPHY
In recent years a new philosophy regarding skin UV ray protection has gained in popularity. It is based on the mechanism of natural protection, which aids protective filters in sun creams. During sun exposure, skin produces melanine and therefore tans as a consequence of UVB ray exposure. The speed of this process depends on the speed of melanine production and its migration into keranocytes. The basal melanine production rhythm and its migration into keranocytes last approximately seven days. During this process the skin is not protected, and sun exposure can therefore cause redness and very dangerous sunburn.
